Today's Group member Savage & Whitten is due to move to a new purpose built 46,000sq ft depot at the end of February. The move follows an increase in turnover for the Northern Irish company from £23.4m in 2008 to £30m in2009.
The new depot is half a mile from the existing building, in Newry Co Down, enabling it to serve both north and south of the Irish border.
Mark Windebank, managing director, commented: "Due to the considerable increase in turnover, and an increase of 20% in staffing numbers, we have outgrown our current premises. The new depot increases the warehouse space and doubles the office space we have, allowing us to build a staff training facility and providing room for further expansion in the future."
On March 14 Savage and Whitten's sister company, Independent Catering Services, which is also a member of Today's, will relocate from its 14,000sq ft warehouse to the 26,000sq ft depot Savage and Whitten is leaving. |
